Etimologi
"Boiler plate" originally refers to the rolled steel used to make water boilers but is used in the media to refer to dirty or unoriginal writing. This term refers to metal plates of pre-prepared text such as advertisements or syndicated columns distributed to small local newspapers. This printing plate became known as 'boilerplate' by analogy. One of the major suppliers for this type of boiler newspaper is the Western Newspaper Union, which supplies "ready-to-print stories containing national or international news" to papers with smaller geographic footprints, which may include pre-printed ads next to conventional content.

Boilerplate language
In contract law, the term "boilerplate language" or "boilerplate clause" describes the parts of the contract that are considered standard. A standard contract or boiler contract is a contract between two parties, in which the terms and conditions of the contract are established by either party, and the other party has little or no ability to negotiate more favorable terms and thus is placed in a "take or leave" position.
Boilerplate languages ââmay also be in pre-made form letters on the Internet for matters such as issues to be addressed by politicians based on problem advertisements, requiring that cable or satellite operators add cable networks to the system, previously written complaints about products opposed by groups which makes such a letter, or an online petition. The person requesting the action usually just needs to type or sign his name at the end of the greeting and body that has been previously written.
Boilerplate code
In computer programming, boilerplate is a piece of code that should be entered in many places with little or no change. Boilerplate code like this is very prominent when the programmer must include lots of code for minimal functionality. The need for boilers can be reduced through high-level mechanisms.
The related phenomenon, the bookkeeping code, is a code that is not part of the business logic, but is inserted with it to keep the data structure updated or able to handle the secondary aspects of the program.
