History
IM Creator was founded in early 2011 by chief executive officer (CEO) Jonathan Saragossi, who previously worked for Wix as his VP design team. The company, headquartered in New York City with offices in Tel Aviv, Israel, is supported by angel investors sought before its launch. A few months after launch, IM Creator enters an open beta phase using an HTML-based platform.
Three to five months after the open-beta, IM Creator is featured in a news article by the online newspaper The New York Times, CBS News and The Next Web. The NY Times revealed that IM Creator claims to have more than 2,000 paying customers and garnering over $ 300,000 from friends and family in the early months.
A year later the company launched IM Creator Mobile Website Builder (branded as IXM), and in 2014, IM Free - a curated free resource collection, all for commercial use.
In 2015, IM Creator introduced its newest platform - IM XPRS - alongside older website makers now commonly referred to as the Creators of Classic IM, or simply, IM Creator. The difference between the two sitebuilders is the site creation process, and that the latest platforms allow creation of responsive websites using a flat UI. The existing sites built on IM Creator Classic are still supported, but all new customers are redirected to the new platform. The company also launched IM Self, XPRS compatible blog creator for mobile devices.
