Ram Trucks , styled as RAM and officially known as Ram Truck Division , is a US-based light brand for mid-weight commercial a vehicle incorporated in 2010 as a division of FCA US LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Prior to the 1970s, Dodge had retained a separate marque for trucks, Fargo, primarily for use outside the United States. After that, all trucks made by Chrysler are distributed under the Dodge marque.
Ram Trucks was founded as a division of Chrysler in 2010, as a spinoff of the Dodge brand, and uses the name of the popular Dodge Ram pickup line that is now sold under the Ram flag. According to Chrysler, the Ram Trucks brand will concentrate on "real truck customers," rather than ordinary truck buyers who buy trucks for pictures or styles.
The Ram brand was created following the acquisition of Chrysler by Italian car manufacturer Fiat S.p.A., and the plan called for Dodge to switch to an exclusive car-based lineup with all the pickup trucks and heavy duty trucks of the future by Chrysler being sold under the Ram brand. It began in calendar year 2009. The Fiat Ducato cargo van design has been adopted and sold as the ProMaster Ram in the North American market, filling the gap created when Daimler ended production of the Dodge Sprinter in 2008. The goal is to increase truck sales "from 280,000 to 415,000 days this by 2014 ".
Executives at Chrysler have declared their intention to compete in the semi-trailer truck category with Ram, possibly helped by Fiat ownership from Iveco and the available Dodge dealer network. Although Ram trucks are marketed separately from Dodge cars, former President of the Division of Ram Fred Diaz stated, "Ram Truck will always and forever become Dodges.Ram will always have the Dodge emblem inside and outside and they will be 'fenced off' (Identification of Vehicle Number) as Dodge. We must continue to market as Ram so Dodge can have a different brand identity: hip, cool, young, energetic. That would not suit the campaign for truck buyers Both must have different themes. "
In April 2013, former CEO Fred Diaz left RAM to serve as vice president of sales and marketing of Nissan's division. He was replaced by Reid Bigland.
In August 2014, CEO of Big Re's Ram Reid truck brand was tapped to lead the Alfa Romeo brand in North America. It has been announced that the new head of the Ram Trucks brand will be Chrysler's longtime employee, Robert Hegbloom, who joined Chrysler in 1986 and has previously been the director for the Dodge brand.
The Ram brand logo features the head of a ram, formerly a logo used by Dodge.

In popular culture
- Ram Trucks entered popular culture in an unintentional way on February 4, 2018 during Super Bowl LII. The commercial use of the preacher's sermon. Martin Luther King Jr. "The Drum Major Instinct" is quickly and widely documented by audiences, academics, news outlets and social media. Of particular concern is the unclear use of a speech in which the King condemns advertisements ("we are often taken by advertisers... men of verbal persuasion heavily"), to sell more Ram Trucks. Within hours, creators on YouTube have made a spin-off ("What Martin Luther King Actually Minds About a Car Ad", "Dodge MLK Super Bowl Ads Not Showing You", "What Dodge LEFT FROM Their MLK Ads in Super Bowl "etc.) that show a more accurate perspective of King's preaching and opinion on advertising.
